The sale price of silage bales lets you recover your funds pretty quickly (at least in Easy mode).Įdit: That rear Novacat mower is the one to get since it has front and back 3-point hitches and can relay PTO to another device. IMO it's worth buying a decent sized field and planting grass. The nice thing about the Ultima is that it's hands-free you just set your heading, turn on cruise control and alt-tab and surf reddit until you get to the end of the field. I have the helper take care of the mower then manually drive the baler around. In my case, I have front and rear Novacat mowers and the 9.3m windrower on one tractor and a (mod) Krone Ultima on another. Not sure if a helper will be able to trigger the baler eject though. You'll need to make a lot of trips up and down to clear a field. Yes, you can have a mower on the front and a baler behind. All they know is the width of their implement and the extents of the field. Plus as Focalor says, helpers are dumber than a box of hammers and can't see the grass in front of them. I haven't tried it, but I expect that helpers need a game-defined field to work within so they probably can't help unless you're using a field planted with grass. Funny you should mention that, I'm harvesting grass right now. ![]()
